Last Saturday's crucial home win against Castleford came at a price for Harlequins with Filimone Lolohea ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The Stoop also saw Tigers' winger Waine Pryce suffer a season -ending injury with a double break to the leg while Filimone's injury appears even more serious.
Filimone underwent a five hour operation to correct a number of injuries including a dislocated and broken hip and a broken thigh-bone. It is expected that Fili will not be able to walk for about three months.
Quins players, staff and supporters send their sympathy and best wished to the very likeable forward, Rob Purdham Speaking on behalf of the club:
Fili's a great bloke and we are all thinking of him. He's a strong person and I know he'll come though this. It's just so disappointing for him to end his season like this.
Get well soon Fili."
In other serious injury news Quins forward Karle Temata has also been ruled out for the season with a knee injury which he sustainied in the Wigan loss a fortnight ago.
