Lamont Bryan Steps up to Super League
19 October 2007, 2:49 pm
By laurenh
This will be the 19 year old Londoner's first professional Rugby League contract and has resulted from his impressive performance for the Quins RL Senior Academy.
Bryan, who has spent three seasons working his way through the ranks with the London based side's Academy, originally came to the club from the impressive South London Storm. He has been described as a strong ball carrying Centre best known for his spectacular try scoring ability from dummy half.

Harlequins RL Head Coach Brian McDermott recognises Bryan's potential to become a regular first team player and is delighted to see home grown talent pushing through to the top grade.

McDermott has said: 'We are giving Lamont an opportunity to further his career. He's played steady games for the Academy this year and we are hoping he'll benefit by being in a full time environment.'

'Next season we are going to be looking to our youth to add some strike to our back line.' McDermott went on to say.

Bryan's presence in the first team squad is testament to the developing depth of local talent that London is producing. Bryan will join fellow Londoners Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Joe Mbu, Mike Worrincy, Tony Club and Will Sharp when the squad commence pre-season training next month.
