<1r>How does it feel knowing this will be the last time you'll put your boots on and run out to play a game of Rugby League?
I've got mixed emotions really. I probably won't know until the day, it probably will be emotional, I've been doing it for a long time but at the same time I'll feel relaxed too knowing that I won't have to go through the sore back stuff and the injuries and everything else - so that's a positive out of it.
When you look back over your long and illustrious career what stands out the most?
Obviously the world cup win in 2000 was good and when I played State of Origin that was great too and obviously being at Melbourne which is such a strong club and being part of building that club - those are the things that stand out.
And what about your time here at Quins RL?
I have really enjoyed it. It has been a really good two years to try and wind down I guess from how full-on it was at Melbourne. I found it a little bit more relaxed and out of that I have enjoyed it and the style of football we've played here - it has really helped me enjoy the last couple of years of my career.
Any regrets?
Not really no, everything I've done I've done with a purpose and obviously I have missed out on a few premierships when I was at Melbourne but they're not regrets, they are things that were out of my hands. That's the only thing I didn't get in my career, a premiership, but I've been lucky enough to do everything else so I can't say I have any regrets.
What are you most looking forward to in life after professional Rugby League?
Just a normal life. Live a normal family life, be able to do things with the family on the weekend and not have a weekend full of footy where the kids and my wife have to come second - so they will get to come first for once.
So what comes next for Scott Hill?
Not quite sure yet, when I go back to Australia I'll sort some things out. I might have the nail bag back on so I might be doing some more carpentry or I might be doing some leadership work with hopefully Leading Teams. I'm not certain on anything yet but I'll find something to do.
You can help us bid Scott Hill farewell this Sunday at the Twickenham Stoop when Harlequins RL take on the Catalans Dragons, kick-off 3pm. Click
