The new agreement will see the 25 year old playing in the capital until the end of 2011
Australian born Howell was relatively unknown when he joined Harlequins from NRL club Canberra Raiders in 2008. Since then he has become one of Harlequins most consistent performers of the last two years and is currently the club’s top try scorer for 2009.
Harlequins Rugby League head coach, Brian McDermott, said
“When I first signed David I said he was one of Rugby League’s best kept secrets; his performances this season and last mean he is definitely on people’s radar now.
“David is currently in outstanding form, having started every game for us this season and we are very glad that he’s decided to stay with us.”
Speaking today, David Howell said he is thrilled to continue his career in the capital:
“I’m enjoying playing my football at Harlequins more than I have anywhere before and I now call London my home.
“The coaching staff and players have been fantastic and given me the chance to concentrate on my game, which I think has shown in my form this season.”
