Harlequins powered to a 40-10 victory over Hull KR whilst Chad Randall celebrated his 100th game for the club.
The game got off to a perfect start for Randall as he chased a kick from Gafa to touch down and score the first of many tries for Quins.
Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook got the second with another trademark charge over the line, before Will Sharp celebrated his contract extension with the third Quins try.
18-0 to the visitors, and Hull KR finally managed to get on the scoreboard through Gene, but Quins added another before the break, courtesy of David Howell. The only downside of the opening half was losing captain Rob Purdham to injury, however with the score at 24-4, the match was all but won.
Rovers got the first score of the second half, a Wheeldon try converted by Dobson, but were not to trouble the Quins line for the rest of the evening.
Will Sharp bagged his second of the match, before Chris Melling scored and converted his first. In his celebrations, Melling dedicated the score to his daughter, Eva, who had been born earlier in the week.
Howell wrapped things up with his second try, running nearly the length of the pitch to touch down between the posts. Melling added the extras with the final kick of the match, sealing an emphatic victory for Quins and a truly miserable evening for Hull KR.
Afterwards head coach, Brian McDermott, said:
“"The boys stuck to it well. It was going to be difficult on a Friday night on telly with a big crowd and a lot of emotion.
"But I thought the boys had a real professional, clinical performance. We got a bit loose but we're not after 10 out of 10 at this stage of the year.
"It wasn't faultless and you have to bear in mind that Hull KR had a few blokes out. They had the whole of their back three out so put it in perspective, we played a depleted team.
"But I don't want to drag too much credit away from our team that's also depleted through injury.”
Harlequins play Leeds, the reigning engage Super League champions next at the Twickenham Stoop, Saturday 20th June, 6pm kick-off.
