Goals: Bishay
Goals: Murphy (7)

This was to be the pattern of the first half with Declan McGloughlin pulling the strings from halfback and with centres Danny Parkinson and Gaz Melling showing quick hands time and again. The end result was further tries in the half from Melling and three from winger Ryan King. Quins did, to be fair, defend the middle very effectively and defended well out wide for the majority of the game but the quality of the play from Ryan King was the difference between the two sides. With youngster Ben Hodgson scoring for Quins it gave Wigan a 30-4 lead going into the break.
The second half began well for Wigan and only heroic defending from Gary Sargeant and Marcus Parnell held up the Wigan forwards on two ocassions to keep Quins in the game. The resistance was finally broken when Declan McGloughlin stepped inside a few tackles to touchdown on 48 minutes. Quins were unlucky not to score at least two tries when they were held up by some frantic Wigan defence and their skill reaped its rewards with two more tries for Ryan King and one from prop Liam Thomson.
Quins refused to lie down and with further tries from Ben Hodgson and one from Marcus Parnell - courtesy of a scintillating length of the field run from Martyn Smith - gave the final word to Quins.
Final score 50-14 to Wigan.
There were many positive points for Colin Baker to take from this performance, Jack Molloy looked dangerous and comfortable at this level, Gary Sargeant and Jack Dillon continued their good form, Martin Smith was superb under the high balls and props Olsi Krasniqi and Louis Robinson ran hard all day, constantly driving the opposition backwards.
One other pleasing aspect of the Quins performance was their fitness, they definitely finished the stronger and looked fitter, a point made by Wigan head of youth, John Pendlebury. This is due to the great work done by conditioning coach Dan Wortley over the year.
Wigan were deserved winners with the main difference being the finishing of Ryan King all made possible by his backs, particularly Declan McGloughlin, a star of the future.
Quins MOM – Max Edwards: carried the ball strongly throughout the game and looked dangerous every time he went into DH. The opposition continually had trouble tackling him and he broke their line on a number of occasions.
