Daniel was a product initially of the famous Australian Rugby league school, St Gregory’s Campbelltown. In 1997 whilst at school Daniel appeared for the Australian Schoolboys against the touring BARLA Young Lions.

Upon leaving school Daniel played for a period at Eaglevale-St. Andrews junior club, prior to signing professional forms for St. George Illawarra, where he progressed through their junior ranks to make his first grade debut in 2000. In that same year Daniel was also a member of the Scotland squad for the 2000 Rugby League World Cup, gaining caps against Aotearoa Maori, Ireland and Samoa. In 2002 Daniel moved on to Parramatta where he impressed in an excellent first season.

In 2004 Daniel joined Manly Sea Eagles, establishing himself as a highly regarded and popular member of the Sea Eagles squad. Daniel is a powerful runner, with a strong defensive game, and he provides important stability to the Harlequins pack.

Unfortunately at Bradford in May 2007, while enjoying his best form since his arrival in the Capital, Daniel suffered a season ending shoulder injury. A similar injury in March 2008, after just a handful of games back in the side, was a bitter blow for Daniel. However his patience and his hard work in rehabilitation was rewarded by a return to first grade action against Huddersfield in June.

Away from the game Daniel enjoys relaxing to the music of the Foo Fighters and U2.
