Chris signed for Harlequins RL from Wigan Warriors in September 2006. A junior product of the Ashton and Hindley junior clubs, Chris toured Australia and New Zealand with England Under 16’s in 2001. After signing for Wigan he represented England U’18 Academy, before making his first grade debut in March 2004. Chris followed this up the following week in the Challenge Cup, by notching a personal tally of 24 points against French side Limoux (one try and 10 goals).

Disappointingly for Chris a serious cruciate ligament injury suffered just weeks later led to him subsequently missing the majority of the 2004 campaign. On returning to first grade action in 2005 Chris made a further 10 first grade appearances before picking up another knee injury requiring further surgery. Back to full fitness in 2006, Chris found first team opportunities limited, but having moved to the hooking role in Wigan’s academy, he impressed enough to be voted U’21 Academy “Player of the Year” for 2006.

For the Quins in 2007 Chris settled into the full back role and proved a revelation. Indeed so impressive was his form that Chris gained selection for Great Britain for the June Test against France, becoming with Paul Sykes, the first Quins players to gain Great Britain honours for 25 years.

Chris suffered an injury hit 2008 season, but enjoyed an almost uninterrupted 2009. His consistent performances throughout the year won him much praise from fans and pundits alike.

Away from rugby, Chris is a qualified physiotherapist.
