Lamont initially played his Rugby league as a junior at the thriving South London Storm RLFC. After three years graduating through Harlequin's academy ranks, Lamont signed a full professional contract with Harlequins in October 2007.

In 2008 he made his Super League debut in a memorable victory over Leeds Rhinos at the Stoop. However, Lamont was not offered a first team contract in 2009 and spent the majority of the season playing at reserve grade.

Despite the disappointment, he persevered and refocused his energies and efforts into his training and on field performances. His determination led to him becoming top try scorer in the reserve side and Bryan was rewarded for his hard work with a recall to the first team for the final five Super League games of 2009. He signed a new first team contract in October 2009.

Although Lamont has played at full-back and at wing, his favoured position is in the centre where his strong ball carrying and elusive running are seen to their best advantage. He is also noted for his spectacular try scoring ability from dummy-half.
