Luke originally signed for London Broncos in November 2004 as an inexperienced, but highly rated half-back from the Sydney Roosters. With junior experience at Morpeth Bulls, Luke had signed for the Northern Eagles (Manly) NRL side in 2002, making 19 first grade appearances in his maiden season, and earning a nomination for NRL Rookie of the Season.

Injury problems in 2003 however led to restricted opportunities and for the 2004 NRL campaign Luke moved to the Roosters. After a season spent mostly at Reserve grade level, Luke arrived in London where he immediately forged a fine half-back partnership with fellow new signings Thomas Leuluai and Mark McLinden. An elusive runner with a tremendous eye for a gap, Luke scored 24 tries for the Broncos in his maiden Super League season. This total included four tries scored against Widnes at Griffin Park in September 2005, to claim a share of the club’s Super League try-scoring record. In 2007 Luke moved to Salford City Reds but after a season at the Willows, he moved on once again to star for Castleford in Super League XIII.

At the close of the season, in September 2008, it was announced that Luke would return to London to once again join Harlequins Rugby League.

Luke enjoyed a fantastic start to his return to London, scoring two tries in his club's first Super League game of the season. Paired up with Danny Orr, Dorn proved to be a potent attacking force for Quins, though he was forced to miss six games mid season with a fractured fibula.
