Originally from the South East London Service Area, Louie was one of the mainstays of London’s successful 2004 Junior Academy squad. Such was Louie’s form that year that he gained selection for 2004’s GB BARLA’s U’18 tour to Australia.
Louie spent the 2005 season on-loan at Hull FC’s Senior Academy, playing a prominent role in Hull’s reserve grade Grand Final winning season.
A strong and powerful runner, Louie does the hard yards to good effect and is also an aggressive defender who enjoys putting in the big hits. Also with a good off-load, Louie is a big asset to any team and signing a first grade contract in 2006 gave him an excellent opportunity to take his game on to the next level.
2007 saw Louie come of age, with his powerful runs and tough tackling attracting the attention of many experienced judges. A regular feature in the first grade side, Louie’s 2007 highlights included his Challenge Cup hat-trick of tries at Pia in the south of France.
2008 continued in the same positive vein for Louie, although a three month absence after a broken wrist injury in March did cause him to miss a substantial part of the season. However to his credit and despite his injury absence, Louie’s form was impressive enough for him to gain selection at the end of the season for the provisional England World Cup squad. Although not selected in the final 24 man squad for Australia, Louie did have the honour of making a try-scoring full international debut against Wales in October.
The 2009 season saw Louie play in every single Super League game for Harlequins, for which he was awarded the club's Ironman award.
In May 2009 he was named in the England Elite Training Squad and joined the Four Nations training squad at the end of the 2009 Super League Season. He made his second appearance for England against Wales in October and again scored a try against them.
Relaxing away from rugby, Louie enjoys going to the movies and socialising. His favourite band is System of a Down.
