Chad signed for Harlequins RL in October 2005 and was the first of the clubs new signings for the 2006 season. Originally a member of the North Curl junior club, Chad was employed as a green keeper prior to signing professional rugby league forms.
A hooker, with a fine kicking game, Chad formerly played for Manly Sea Eagles in the NRL. Indeed in 2005 Chad’s fine performances were an important factor in Manly’s excellent mid-season form. Chad, who is the son of ex-Manly legend Terry Randall, is considered to be a fine reader of the game and his booming touch-finding penalties gain considerable metres for the side.
Chad missed the commencement of the 2006 campaign following surgery to his shoulder and his Quins debut was made at Huddersfield on 19 March. Sound in defence and an excellent runner from dummy-half, Chad’s form since his arrival in London has been quite exceptional.
At the conclusion of Super League XII, Chad’s reliable contribution to the side was recognised when he won the club’s “Iron Man award”, for being an ever present during 2007; an award that Chad repeated in 2008.
During the 2009 season Chad made his 100th appearance for Harlequins. Whilst other players have reached one hundred games for the capital’s only Super League club, these have included appearances for the London Broncos. Randall is the first player to reach this milestone for Harlequins Rugby League.
Three rounds later - having not missed a Super League game for over three years - Chad made his 100th consecutive appearance for Harlequins. His determination, unquestionable work rate and dedication make Chad a firm favourite with players and fans alike.
Chad enjoys playing golf and listening to Funky House music.
